Drug Charges Issued Against Loretto Man During Arrest

   Drug charges were issued against a Loretto man last week who was in the process of being arrested on a separate charge.

   Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report that they had made contact with twenty-four year old Dalton Blaine Coyer at Loretto Quik Mart on South Military at around 12:12 a.m. Thursday.

They were attempting to serve an outstanding warrant issued against him in 2011 on a charge of theft of property.

   During a standard pat down, deputies discovered that Coyer had on his person nine Xanax and one Buprenorphine pills without a prescription.

As a result, Coyer was subsequently charged with possession of Schedule III narcotics and possession of Schedule IV narcotics. He was transported for incarceration at the Lawrence County Detention Center.
